Question:Have you ever been laid off as part of your company's 'down sizing?'

It's something you can understand ... the need to cut jobs in order to keep the busines afloat, but that doesn't mean it doesn't hurt when you're the one being let go. How did you feel and how did you deal?

Answer:

I was just laid off in May due to a reduction in force as they put it. I had been working for the company for almost 16 years. Didn't see it coming at all. Now I am searching for jobs everyday. I know one thing, I want to find a job that in an industry that is "stable" not one that lays people off every year.

Answer:

I was laid off this past November. As it turns out, it was a blessing in disguise. My boss would often send me emails and text messages at 2:00 in the morning (and expect a response!). I was a sales rep in a company that had been experiencing high turnover and a loss of its top people every other year or so.
In retrospect, this change was the best thing that could have ever happened to me. I am decompressing and have found a certain calm in my life now. I will be very careful with my next career choice.
