I have fallen from the positive wagon - how do I get back on?
I have been rejected, yet again for a job. It's getting harder to get back to a positive outlook as the jobs available are all jobs that I've applied for and the list of polite rejections is getting bigger.
I'm worried that I am going to soon reach the point where I don't even care if I have a positive outlook.
Any suggestions?
I recently met a woman who was following a personal mission to walk from San Diego, California to Santiago, Chile. I asked her if she was scared to be walking through some dangerous places and she told me that she doesn't worry because she knows she's on her personal mission. I like to think of this concept whenever I have a certain goal. I try not to be afraid of failure because I know that I'm on my personal path. Keep this in mind and it will help you to stay on the positive wagon.
It is sometimes hard to always think positive, surround yourself with things that make you happy. I also have found what works good for me, is watching the secret video, I would watch it everyday or just keep it on in the background to where I had positive thoughts flowing. Just keep thinking you can and that those jobs just werent for you and that your dream job will come along.
Whenever a rejection comes I try to remember that it isn't always about me. There are just too many people out there who are looking right now, and only so many can actually be the one hired. All you can do is keep moving forward and trying for the jobs you're qualified for. Even if you can't be "super upbeat" you can keep that glimmer of hope by remembering that this too shall pass. :)
Sometimes we unintentionally attract what we fear, such as rejection, because we don't know how to ask for what we need in the most effective way. What has worked for me is reciting affirmations in present tense, such as "I am a magnet for opportunity/success/a great new job." At first it may feel like a lie, but the more you recite it, or write it, the more true if will become. I use place card holders to attach my hand-written affirmations to, so they are on display in every room. This has worked for me, and I hope it'll work for you!
One thing I would suggest is that you should probably start doing something that would bring your confidence back up. Maybe volunteer somewhere in the meantime or just anything like spending time with your loved ones will help bring up your confidence. If you feel confident, it's easier to think more positive.
