Movers Beware

We've all heard the horror stories. You're moving to a new city, you hire a mover and come moving day, they're a no-show, and you have to shell out big bucks to get another moving company to fill in last minute. (If you're lucky enough to find one!) Or worse, they do show up, and then they hold your belongings hostage until you ante up a good bit more than you were originally quoted.

Thankfully there's a site that can help you avoid these nightmares. MovingScam.com has a huge list of movers who have been labeled repeat offenders. While this list certainly can't be considered exhaustive, it's a useful resource, in addition to the Better Business Bureau and local Chamber of Commerce, that you can use to help wean out the bad eggs.

Share your last moving experience. Would you recommend the moving company you used?
