Moving On Out...and Fast!

Moving On Out...and Fast!

No one can argue against the statement that moving to a new city is difficult, and sometimes it’s a downright pain. Visions of a new life in a new city may be exciting, but the actual physical labor of packing up one apartment or house and transporting it to another is not easy.

A writer for the Chicago Sun-Times experienced some apartment drama, resulting in she and her roommate moving out. No biggie, right? Well, they had seven days to move, and on top of that, four jobs between the two of them and a tight budget.

In any move comes the question of what to throw away. Take a look at your furniture and really contemplate what needs to go. Go room by room, and make piles of items labeled “things I can part with.” If it makes you feel better, seek out ways to recycle some of your possessions, or find new owners (friends?) if the possessions are in good condition. Lastly, if you can’t afford movers, you probably have “friends that can be bribed with free food and beer.” Turn it into a fun experience, and the time will go by quicker! [Chicago Sun-Times]
