What would be the biggest cultural hurdle I'll need to get over with a move from New York to California?

I might be able to help you, as I was born and reared in New Jersey and have been living in Los Angeles now for 20 years. But I need more info. Are you talking about New York State or New York City? And what part of California are you moving to? Los Angeles? San Francisco? A small town? Northern California and Southern California are very different from each other.
