Great Place to Meet New People

Kristy101081

I moved around a lot as a kid and never really had time to meet new people, so frankly I think I'm missing that particular social skill now as an adult. But, for those like me who can't go into the bookstore and just make a friend, I've found something that works for me. Meetup.com!

Meetup.com is a place where people with common interests can design meet ups to get to know one another. For example, I'm into screenwriting and there are two groups that I joined. We meet several times a month and discuss our projects, formerly. Several of them have become good friends. I've also joined a singles group, and while I haven't found anyone to date, I have made some interesting friends that way as well. It's an interesting site.

I thought about applying for one of the community manager type jobs as I too love the idea. I've actually never gone to a meet-up though!

I've always loved the idea of meetup. I wanted to work there when they first launched. It's fun to make new friends online, but even more fun when you meet face to face.

I don't have meetup where I live, so I started one myself! I'm a writer so I invited a couple other writers I've met out for some beers. We had so much fun we decided to make it a monthly event!
