Young Love
Reece Pursglove had a few simple goals to achieve before he died of leukemia. He got to ride in a Porsche, hang out in a fire station and have a pirate-themed birthday party. His final wish—a wedding to his childhood sweetheart—took a little bit more planning. This is because Fleming and his bride Elleanor Pursglove were both only eight years old when they walked down the aisle for their mock ceremony.
"I'm sure Reece knew he didn't have long, but he was determined to go ahead with the marriage. He said to me, 'Mum, I'm not ready to go yet'. That was how much it meant to him. I knew there and then he really wanted it to happen," the groom's mother Loraine told The Sun.
This is an especially heartening story if you are in the process of planning your wedding. It helps you realize just how special the event is and that it doesn't really matter if you have a perfect dress or the best place settings. The most important thing is you find as much joy and love as little Reece did. [The Sun]
What a great story. Even though it's sad to hear about the loss of a child, there's so much hope in it. I think I just learned from an eight-year-old to live life everyday, and pursue what you want no matter what! Great post.
