Do Your Own Thang
After being a bridesmaid in a number of weddings and planning my own, I learned that no bride should be intimidated about planning the wedding that she wants. In my case, a number of people told me I needed to have a bigger wedding and a white dress and all that traditional stuff. I didn't want it. I had a red dress made, had a small wedding with 50 people in a garden and the reception was at a local bar! And most of my guests said it was one of the best weddings they had been to.
So do whatever you want (within your budget, that is). If you want to go to Vegas and have Elvis marry you(that was my first choice, by the way), do it! If you want just 10 people on the beach, do it!
Don't let someone else's idea of what a wedding looks like invade your dream.
i agree. i think it's important for your wedding to reflect your unique style and to be a day that is totally comfortable for you. that way you can enjoy yourself and your guests.
