"My interview with Ariane was nothing but smooth, professional, and a hell of a lot of fun. Not the usual 20 questions. Highly recommended." -Timothy Ferriss, #1 NY Times bestselling author of The 4-Hour Workweek

Medical Emergency

You already know that Social Security probably won’t be enough to cover your retirement needs. Now, you may need to worry that there won’t be any doctors to see you, whether you have health coverage or not.

A report released today by the Institute of Medicine, an arm of the National Academy of Sciences, shows that there aren't enough specialists in geriatric medicine, that there is not sufficient training for those that want to work in this specialty and that those that do the work now are underpaid.

In addition, Medicare may actually keep people from quality care because of low reimbursement rates and the fact that it isn’t good for managing long-term health issues. The Institute is advising that all healthcare workers learn at least basic geriatric care and that pay for specialists be increased. Meanwhile, your best bet is to live a healthier lifestyle and keep saving for retirement so you can cover any costs that come your way! [Time]
