The Lawn Chair Balloonist
It’s safe to assume that we all have dreams, but, well, some of us have some wackier ones in mind. And some of us even take them to flight—literally. Consider, for instance, Kent Couch (yes, that’s his real name!), a gas station owner in Oregon who is also referred to the “lawn chair balloonist.” He traveled 235 miles over a nine-hour span of time in the air via helium-balloon-rigged lawn chair.
Why? He says, “Originally I wanted to do it because of boyhood dreams. I don’t know about girls, but I think most guys look up in the sky and wish they could ride on a cloud.” While most people may have similar desires to experience flying in such a way, they probably don’t go the lengths that Couch did.
Even though his wife calls him crazy, he calls the “peace” and “serenity” the real joys of the trip. If Couch had his way, he’d be pursuing this same dream every weekend! Do you have any wacky dreams of your own, whether or not they have been realized yet? [MSNBC]
Similarly, I want my childhood stuffed animal to come alive and talk to me.
Currently I want to do a Nova Scotia bike tour and become a corn detasseler one summer.
Talking to animals. Like Eliza in that Nickelodeon show The Wild Thornberrys. Now wouldn't that be cool?
