We remodeled our kitchen last year, and it was so worth it. My one piece of advice would be to overstimate on how long it will take and how much it will cost. After we got started, we discovered that we needed to rewire the whole kitchen, so we needed to hire an electrician (which meant spending more money). Having that cushion gave us less stress to deal with. And if you have money left over when the project is done, then great!
