Barbie's Dream House
Deven Trabosh is hoping for a Prince Charming who will not only sweep her off her feet, but who will swoop in and save her $340,000 abode. The 42-year-old out-of-practice real estate agent is the latest daring soul to come up with an unconventional way to try to sell a home in the sluggish real estate market. There was the other Florida woman who tried to give her home away with an "ode to your pet" essay contest, and more recently the Australian man who put his entire life up for sale, including a three-bedroom home in Perth, Australia.
Trabosh's plan is to place her home for sale on EBay and Craigslist for $340,000 with an additional $500,000 "shipping and handling" fee that will offset the cost of her companionship. The ads offered buyers a chance to "Marry a Princess Lost in America."
"I'm struggling. ... I don't want to lose my house, and I want to find somebody," Trabosh told the Associated Press. "So I came up with this dream plan, because I've always dreamed about being a fairy-tale princess." That's funny; we can't seem to remember Princess Jasmine having a mortgage on her palace, or Sleeping Beauty charging $500,000 to be wakened from her slumber. However, if you happen to be looking for love and a new home in South Florida, this could be your chance. Trabosh is
no Cinderella, but the mother of two would make for one cute housemate. Any takers? [CNN]
