Bright Ideas

Bright Ideas

If only you'd taken the time to actually make that self-cleaning mop—you'd be raking in millions! How many great ideas have you had in your head that you never executed because of fear? There are many people like you and this fear is based on four specific thoughts that aren't even true. It's time to debunk these myths and start your own business! Don't be scared...we'll get you through it:

Myth 1: "I don't have the time." We all wish there were 30 hours in a day. This excuse is rarely true. Most people just don't manage their time appropriately. Stop idling with your free time; be productive. If you are tired after work, make it a point to try to wake up earlier in the mornings and squeeze some time in there.

Myth 2: "I can't afford the financial risk." If you start small and build methodically you can begin on a shoestring budget. This also affords you time to learn so that the mistakes you make don't cost you your livelihood.

Myth 3: " I don't know anything about business." We can't tell you how many great stories begin with people who had never set foot in business school. So what? Pick up a book and teach yourself the basics.

Myth 4: "I'll do it someday, just not now." Really? If you think this way that someday will always remain just that, someday. When you have inspired thought, act on it!

Enough reading. Get out there and get started...and be sure to tell us your own myths—and how you busted them! [Matt Inglot]
