Working with tough boss
If you want to keep your status or what little peace of mind you currently have...Don't say anything to anyone in upper management or HR. I have done it and it only labeled me as a trouble maker and costed me a promotion. Ultimately I ended up quitting my job and suffering through this recession. I thought speaking up would change her behavior but it only made it worse. If I had it to do over, I would have started looking for another job much sooner.
Yes, that's what HR departments are for. If you're having problems with your boss, discuss it with an HR representative.
It might be tough to approach your boss directly, especially because it might affect your everyday work. Does your company have an HR department? Maybe you could ask someone there to act as an intermediary.
