Question:What do you wear to that holiday party?

It's holiday season and that means lots of cocktail hours and holiday parties. If you've just started a new job this could be the first impression you make on a social level. Are you better off going as professional as possible, or should you show a bit more personality?

Answer:

The office holiday party is a great place to show a bit of personality...wear something festive yet appropriate. Trade in your LBD for a LRD (little red dress), add dark tights and dark shoes, a little lipstick and viola, you have the perfect party outfit--fun yet still work-worthy!

Answer:

I just read an article on this...they say you should try and enhance your everyday wear just a little. Show your personality by adding funky new shoes and accessories to a plain black dress or suit in a conservative cut (if your workplace is conservative.) They also said not to show up "business casual," as it's not really seasonally festive or appropriate.

If you're new, it's always good to make an office friend who's at your same level and ask what people wear to things like that.
