Check Out North Dakota.

While the rest of the country is facing an economic downturn, North Dakota, the mighty state that could, is operating on a whole other playing field. Employment officials there say they are having trouble filling some jobs because people are scared off by perceptions of the state as being a cold and boring place. The movie, "Fargo", probably didn't help either.

I wonder if we'll see a mass exodus from big cities to smaller towns with more jobs...and subsequently city-like venues, restaurants etc. being transported there as well?

My friends just moved to North Dakota. While it's probably frigid and a definite shock after living in NYC, they seem pretty happy.
