Stressin' the College Life

You’ve got two midterms on macroeconomics and biology on Wednesday, a paper due in 18th century British literature due on Friday, a fundraising event to organize for your politics club on Saturday and a pile of laundry in your dorm room. WHOA!

If this sounds like you, you’re one of the millions of college undergraduates who are stressed out. According to a survey by Edison Media Research for mtvU and the Associated Press, four in 10 students say they experience stress often in their college career and one in five say the stress is constant. And this stress can make students eat poorly, feel tired, lack concentration and in some extreme cases, consider suicide.

Nip that stress in the bud and take control of your college life. Make some time in the day for a break and step away from the craziness. Maybe take up meditating  or read up on how you can get a better handle on your workload after starting college. You could also try getting organized to get a better handle on your obligations. Or try eliminating some of those obligations.

These are the best years of your life, remember? So don’t stress! [Seattle Times]
