How do you schedule study-time?
I'm going to school online, so scheduling my time is important or I wont complete my classes. Do you make a very strict schedule or a somewhat lax one? How do you recommend scheduling.
You can have a strict schedule or a lax one but just make sure that you dedicate 2-3 hours per credit hour. Have 12 credits in total? Then you need to spend 24-36 hours outside of class on your studying, ressearch, homework etc.
Try studying in a different location. Go to a library or coffee shop. Having a determined time and place will help you stay focused. When you work from home there are so many distractions that it can be hard to separate the two.
Going to school online is like working from home. You have to make the same effort like you were in the classroom or in the office, so that means making a list of what you want to accomplish each day and finding a way to stick to it.
I tend to have more energy in the morning hours, so that is when I make an effort to tackle my more trying tasks.
Determine when you think you are at your freshest and try to schedule some time in that window for study. You'll absorb more, probably in less time and feel better knowing you got the study portion of the day crossed off the list.
Good luck. I'd love to know how you like completing your studies online.
I think it depends on how you structured your studies in the past. Are you better at doing a little bit every day, or would you prefer to do it all at once? For the first few weeks, you might want to try and schedule it into your planner the way you'd schedule regular meetings or classes. This way you have dedicated times that you know you have to study. At the same time, you might want to schedule in free time as well! All work and no play makes Tori a bored student! And you'll need all your attention to get through those classes. Good luck!
