Tips

Ask your parents to be a facebook friend.

coleman

Given that most folks over 30 are not comfortable putting the details of their lives on the internet it's a big deal for moms and dads to create a facebook profile. Invite your folks in...with ground rules. You've made it to college let them know this is a part of the path to independence. They will be your friends but tell them to keep in mind that this is your independent space. I've talked to several first time parents of freshman and inviting us into your facebook world is just as important as including us in your real one.
