Good question. I struggle with this as well.
For me, niethor style of parenting is bad, only different. I have to remind myself that I can not force them to parent my way and they can not control my parenting eithor. I would like to believe that the longer we are together, trying to become a family and doing what's best for the children, the changes will take place organically on both sides.
