Squished HD
Traveling through wires or transmitted via satellite to your new HDTV, consider yourself lucky if your image is picture perfect without any tweaking. After all, there are steps to take to ensure the best high-def experience.
But if you’ve tried correcting all the usual suspected problems, one may exist in the transportation of your program to your TV. High-definition filming captures a tremendously high quality picture (duh!) but when it converts to fit down on your screen, this “compression” process may result in losing quality on your end. And the problem, which is more noticeable on larger HDTVs, may not be fixed anytime soon, as a majority of the public does not own these big TVs.
So start your engines and get complaining! Don’t be rude, but make a point of informing your HD service provider that you wish there was a solution. If enough people raise their voices, it might inspire a change. [PC World]
