Can Yours Handle it?

In computer lingo, officially “released” products won’t show up on your doorstep, packaged with a bow. The Windows Vista upgrade SP1 is out there—but can you find it? The option to move-on-up might not even appear on your Automatic Updates for over a month. Not helpful if you want to try to just get it done now.

If you want to take a shot, you could try mirroring the steps taken by Vista expert Preston Gralla, who narrates his journey with screenshots.

But the reason Gralla could not install the update wasn’t because he’s not technologically savvy. His computer just isn’t equipped for the update. Thankfully, Microsoft has released lengthy information to help you determine whether or not your Vista will accept the new changes. So before you go crazy and give up, check out the available information and see what you can do! [Computerworld]
