Hi, I'm a PC
After Jerry Seinfeld and Bill Gates ads “about nothing,” Microsoft is releasing a new ad campaign that aims to combat the negative image Apple paints Windows with in their commercials. Microsoft said the campaign, “Life Without Walls,” will reflect the holistic approach it took when it developed the Windows platform (Vista, Windows Live and Windows Mobile).
“At the core, Windows is about enabling each of us, as individuals, to live our lives without walls,” said Bill Veghte, senior vice president of Microsoft’s Online Services & Windows Business Group. “I want to work when I want to work. I want to play when I want to play. I want to communicate and share with friends and family and coworkers.”
The ads will feature celebrities like green architect Edouard Francois, astronaut Bernard Harris, actress Eva Longoria and spiritual author Deepak Chopra, but they will also focus on real PC users of all ages and walks of life.
“One of the really fun things we’ve done is to create a series of ads called ‘I’m a PC’—and we’re enabling every PC user to upload their own ‘I’m a PC’ spot, Veghte said. “So you can upload it and we’ll publish it and amplify it on windows.com…and then we’ll do better than that—we’ll publish some of those ‘I’m a PC’ spots in places like digital billboards in Times Square.”

I for one am shocked that Microsoft would steal Apple's ad ideas.
Karadc, that is too funny about the ads being edited on Macs! I'm personally a Mac user, and I'm wondering how many of the celebrities featured are too?
It's true – "CS3 - Mac" was found in the headers of one of the graphics used in a print (I think) portion of the campaign.
I heard through the tech grapevine that some of these ads were edited on...gasp...Macs! How's that for irony? (Or hypocrisy!)

There's nothing wrong with being a PC. There's nothing wrong with driving an AMC Gremlin. There's nothing wrong with SansABelt slacks.
