An Actor's Empty Nest

She’s battled aliens and serial killers, but Sigourney Weaver has never faced a challenge quite like this. In the fall, her only child will head off to college, leaving the star with a very empty nest .

Fortunately, Weaver is doing what most experts recommend  during this transition. She’s keeping busy with work (she’s got one film in theatres now and is working on two more this year) and is planning to travel to Southeast Asia with her husband. In this interview with USA Today, she says that though it’s a hard time, it’s also very exciting.
