A Checkup Before Take Off

A Checkup Before Take Off

healhealtYou know, that jet-setting lifestyle leaves you little time to keep your health diagnosis. Sometimes things like getting a checkup or refilling regular prescriptions just don’t take prioritity to the business meeting or family reunion you just have to attend.

Well, why not take care of your health at the airport?

More and more airports are setting up walk-in clinics and pharmacies to cater to people who simply don’t have the time to do these things. Hartsfield-Jackson airport in Atlanta has the AeroClinic, Newark Airport has the Harmony Pharmacy in terminal C1 and New York’s JFK Airport will have a pharmacy in the JetBlue terminal in the fall. Clinics are also scheduled to be open in Orlando International Airport and Philadelphia International airport. They take most insurance policies, and provide prices up front for various services.

Staffed by nurse practitioners, the clinics are equipped to handle the most common medical complaints, such as ear aches, stomach aches and colds, while the pharmacies similarly are equipped to address the most commonly requested medications for diabetes, asthma and heart conditions. [USA Today]
