OJ...Does a Body Good?

OJ...Does a Body Good?

Move over milk, orange juice could be the new beverage that does a body good. New research shows that when mice were given vitamin C intravenously, their cancerous tumors shrunk. This finding revolutionizes the way science views vitamin C, which traditionally has been as just a vitamin, not a drug.

Granted, more studies are needed to test the whole vitamin C as a drug theory, especially when it comes to humans. Not to mention, researchers don’t yet know which cancer health diagnoses this could affect.

One of the obstacles of this possible cancer treatment is how difficult it is to get the high amounts of vitamin C necessary to shrink the tumors—our bodies only digest so much before we hit our saturation point. Scientists think they have found the magical route, by bypassing the digestive system and going straight into the bloodstream via IV.

What do you think might come of us? Are you optimistic about vitamins as possible treatments for cancer or other diseases? [HealthDay]

I'm an optomistic person, but vitamins curing cancer and other diseases? I don't think so. I'm sure they may help in preventing, but curing? Wishful thinking though, wishful thinking.
