National Adoption Month

lindad14

November is National Adoption Month, and adoption organziations in the U.S. are using it as an opportunity to remind prospective parents that there are plenty of children looking for loving homes. In fact, there are 500,000 children currently in foster care. Of these children, 129,000 are 'legally free' for adoption and waiting for a family.

While many celebs are leaning towards international adoption, My Big Fat Greek Wedding star Nia Vardalos just announced that she and her husband adopted a little girl. The couple decided only to reveal that their child—quietly adopted several months ago—is a toddler under five years old. They are going public now to bring attention to National Adoption Month.

The statement also encouraged those interested in adopting to visit Link.
