A Smile a Day, Paved the Way
Changing your life requires you to change your actions along with your thoughts. Joanna Boccard used this strategy to face her shyness head on, knowing that she would never be able to fulfill her dreams if she was too afraid to look beyond her own two feet.
She reasoned that if her father could wave and smiled at everyone, so could she. "I decided to put myself into a situation in which I was surrounded by strangers, a busy downtown street," explains Boccard. "I walked among these strangers holding my head high and looking into their eyes."
Once she practiced a bit and the earth-shattering part faded. It became easy, natural and fun. She even added on a smile. "By taking control of this area of my life I knew I could do anything I wanted," says Boccard, proudly.
What area of your life would you like to take control of? Whom would you like to emulate?
