The Eco-Friendly Workout
Just in case you missed the world news memo, here it is one more time: Our Earth needs a bit of life-saving help.
And people around the globe are happy to give it mouth-to-mouth. After all, homes, weddings, pets and grocery trips are being made into green efforts. And guess what? Yep, read on for the top changes you can make to green your next sweat session.
*Cook up your own energy bars. PowerBar and Cliff Bars won’t have anything on energy bars straight from the oven. Check out these recipes from Matisse and Jack’s. You can also try buying sports bars and drinks in bulk to eliminate uneconomical packaging.
*Try a reusable water bottle. Cut back on plastic usage by investing in a stainless steel water bottle, like a SIGG water bottle, to take to the gym.
*Walk, run or bike your way to getting in good shape. Each activity is a great warm-up for hitting the gym. If you are short on time, you can always carpool to eliminate excess gas usage. Or skip the gym entirely—fitness equipment requires a ton of energy!
*Turn that sports bra green. And your socks, t-shirts, pants and shorts—organic cotton is the way to go. [Health]
