Working Out with the Kids

Want to go to the gym to work out but you feel guilty that you’re leaving your kids at home? More gyms understand the needs of parents who want to work out with their kids and are accommodating them with classes and equipment to entice you to bring them along.

Town Sports International, the parent company behind New York, Philadelphia and Boston Sports Clubs, is expanding this program to let kids exercise similarly to their parents at the gym. The idea is that they get to see their parents setting a good fitness example while parents keep them close by.

Though there is some fear that other gym members will feel alienated by the large kid presence, most feel that getting in shape as a family is what is important. [Wall Street Journal]
