Hemispheric Mix-up
Emma Nunn and Raoul Christian thought they planned a romantic rendezvous to a beach-filled city in the southern hemisphere. Instead they ended up in northeast Canada.
Due to a mix-up on an online travel web site, the couple never made it to Sydney, Australia, but instead the British couple ended up in Sydney, Cape Briton Island—a former mining town with a population of 26,083.
The BBC said the couple handled the mix-up in "true British fashion," by bucking up and not getting their knickers in a twist over an innocent mistake. "Obviously it is a big disappointment," Ms Nunn told the news agency. "But after it sank in we both said, 'Let's make the most of what we've got around us.'" So, they spent several days eating fresh lobster and admiring the local pick-up trucks.
Even though Nunn and Christian are each only 19 years old, we predict they will have a long, stable relationship. Getting through a stressful situation with grace and style is a great way to improve your relationship. Any couple that can make such a colossal mistake and not pull each other's hair out in the process truly understands the meaning of patience and understanding. [BBC]
