Moving in Together
Whether you’re getting hitched or embracing the modern tradition of premarital cohabitation, moving in with your significant other is a big deal. From fighting for the covers every night to waking up with the person you love each morning, this new chapter in your life—especially the first 30 days—may be rife with happy moments and potential conflicts.
While there’s no foolproof plan to avoiding relationship complications after you move in together, our new friends at The Frisky have some great tips for getting through the beginning stages of creating a home together without wishing you'd kept your own place, just in case.
For instance, they suggest establishing ground rules and decorating the new place together—that way, you feel like you're both investing in living there, not just perpetually spending the night. Also, you should try spending some time apart (no! really! it's a gem of an idea) which can help you appreciate each other more.
Read the rest of their tips here, and share your own! What have you learned from moving in together that would help others about to take the plunge into cohabitational bliss?
I made a promise to tell my testimony all over the globe once my man come back to me and my husband came just as DR abaka told me when he helped me. I made the right choice to have contacted DR abaka the great spell caster who is capable of helping you solve your problems. My man left me to suffer and i never believed that he will come back to me again but when i contacted DR abaka he assured me that my man will come again. he gave me some list of items to buy but i could not get them in my country and so i sent him the money and he bought the items and prepared the perfect love spell. My husband ran back to me in 3 days time begging for forgiveness THIS IS SO REAL AND GENUINE. NO SCAMS. I was so surprise that the spell worked just as he told me. This is so amazing and i want you to believe because DR abaka is so real and i urge you contact him now on his email so that he can also help you the way he helped me. email is Drabakaspelltemple@gmail.com and you can also contact him with his phone number on whats app +2349063230051 you can also check and contact him on htpp://Drabakaspelltemple.blogspot.com
Give each other space. Sometimes, I just need to be by myself and so does my fiance. That can be tough when you are living together -- you have gone from living in separate homes to sharing a bathroom. I set aside some time to read a book or, in his case, he enjoys playing the guitar. We know that is our personal time ... And we are a better couple for having it.
My tip: fight! No, really. I spent 2.5 years living with a sig. other, and we very rarely fought or even argued. Things were not peachy keen, but rather, we didn't address issues. He was very anti-conflict, but in the end, all of these issues built up inside and it all imploded.
Discussing and arguing are healthy behaviors!
The biggest tip I have for couples just moving in together is FORGIVE AND FORGET. I can't tell you how many times I've freaked out that my husband won't change the toilet paper roll or socks were all over the place...and my hubs has complained about my shoes blocking the front door or my inability to turn off all the lights, But those tiffs turn into bigger unnecessary fights and it's just not worth it. Let it go!
