Question:I've decided that I want to make some new friends, in addition to the ones I already have. Would anyone care to share what they've done to meet new friends? Thanks.

Answer:

CurlyOne,

Meeting new people is one of the most beautiful gifts life bestows upon us, as through others, we meet parts of ourselves and have new eyes through which to see the world. Meeting new people is different from finding new friends so do not be discouraged if you don't click with every new person you give your name and a smile to.

Some places to meet new friends are:

Community Events- The Summer provides access to a ton of outdoor events such as movies in the park, craft fairs, outdoor concerts, farmers markets and outdoor networking events.

Classes: Cooking, Yoga, Salsa, Tango, Painting...explore an interest and ask someone in your new class if they would like to have coffee or lunch.

Through Friends: Host a happy hour with two other friends or colleagues and have each person invite their own guestlist. This is not only helpful in meeting new friends but new romantic partners as well.

Join a Club or Start One: A neighborhood knitting, book or golf club is a great way to get people together.

Hope that helps!
