Pricy Food, Healthier Eating?

There are lots of stories lately that people are shocked by the rise in the cost of food, and some outlets are arguing that it’s changing American’s eating habits. More and more people are avoiding restaurants in favor of more packed lunches and dinners at home, and local fruits and vegetables are more in demand since they have not been hit by the price hike.

But is this a bad thing?

The New York Times doesn’t think so, because it might just be the thing people need to start eating and living healthier again. The thinking goes that if prices for grain go up, then things like Coke and candy will be more expensive, and then won’t be as enticing to buy…or at least people will buy less of it.
