How can we live healthy on no budget?
Some people like myself is living pay check to pay check. How can we acheive a healty diet plan on what we make?
Try buying your fruits and vegetables at local farmers' markets, they're usually cheaper and much fresher than what you get in the store. You might also want to check into the option of home canning. You can buy foods when cheaper and by canning them you'll have them to use when prices are higher. Make sure you research it to find the safest way to can each food.
I found a good article at about.com from the Guide in charge of a topic called Busy Cooks.
It's called
"Got $10? Make a Meal"
Here is the link:

Kiki76 makes an awesome point. When striving to be healthy, especially on low budget, think of your family's likes as well as needs. You do not have to eat meat often. In creasing such items as lentils and beans in the diet provide fiber as well as essential nutrients. If the thought of a week full of beans scares you, try adding new things to the diet or putting a new spin on a favorite oldie. Aside from oatmeal, there are other cereals that can be used at breakfast that are inexpensive.
Try the webpage Link and see if that will be of any help. You can do it!
@nicolasjohnson, that isn't quite true. fruits and veggies are often more expensive than anything else in the grocery cart.
Jahqueh, it's hard to eat healthfully on a budget. I get lots of healthy recipes from 101cookbooks.com. Try things that will keep bellies full for a long time that you can purchase in bulk or large containers. Think oatmeal for breakfast. Brown rice and veggie stir fry, with some tofu if you can afford it, is a great meal. Canned beans are a great source of protein and can be mixed with canned or frozen corn, onion and cilantro for a salad.
Even though organic veggies are best, it is hard to buy them when you're watching pennies. Just choose the freshest ones you can find, buy locally when you can, and keep working hard to be healthy! Good luck!
I sorry I should Mention I am a vegitarian. I dont eat meat for 12 yrs now, My weakness use to be chcocolate now i foung out im allergic.
Cut way back on your consumption/purchase of meat -- the most expensive part of your diet -- and the rest should fit easily into your budget.
