Question:Does being a vegeterian necessarily make you healthier?

I've read about different diets and lifestyles ...Japanese people are said to be healthy because they eat fish and rice, the French don't get fat because they drink wine...

If you're a vegeterian, did you become one because of a personal belief or for the health benefits?

Answer:

Not if you eat crap! To put it crudely. I did the vegetarian thing in a not healthy way (pizza, eggs, grilled cheese). If you emphasize the VEG part of it, i.e., eating veggies and adding in healthy proteins, then yes, it could make you healthier.

I guess it depends on what your definition of "healthier" is too.
