She's the Biggest Loser
A man’s metabolism often works faster than a woman’s. Add this to a higher starting weight (a.k.a. more weight to lose), and you can easily figure out why men have won the past four seasons of NBC’s “The Biggest Loser.”
But men’s dominating success on the show’s scale has come to a screeching halt. For the first time, a woman has won the title of the biggest loser. Ali Vincent, 32, lost 112 pounds thanks to the show—her loss of 47.86% of her original 234 pounds was the highest percentage lost this season!
Vincent and her mother tried out for the show but were voted off on the fourth episode. But the impressive part is that she didn’t stop there. Vincent went on to lose even more weight at home—without the luxury of the trainers and dieticians for contestants. And in a show twist, was brought back on to compete and win. Way to go, girl!
Vincent’s dedication helped her succeed and now she says she considers herself a new person. With her new look, she hopes to expand her hairstylist skills to become a platform artist—an individual working for a hair-care line that demonstrates the newest styles and products. What are your goals for losing weight and how to you plan to stay motivated to get there? [MSNBC]
