I agree with JeninLA. Add more veggies! They should be at least half your plate at lunch and dinner. I usually do a salad because it's fast and easy. You start to love them after a while, and they really fill you up. Depending on your weight, you probably shouldn't be eating more than 3 servings of fruit and 2 cups of low-fat milk or yogurt a day.

I also found it hard to lose weight when I was under a lot of stress, so I joined a program to get me started. I also got a full checkup, and found that I had subclinical hypothyroidism. My doctor put me on thyroid medication, and it greatly improved my energy level and my mood.

Good luck and God bless. Keep looking at the light at the end of the tunnel.

I would like to suggest that you go to your doctor and get a full physical examination, including blood work and explain your situation to your doctor. I'm not diagnosing you, but in my case I had a thyroid condition that prevented me from losing weight and I didn't find out until my doc decided to test me. You might want to check it out at least to rule it out.
If that doesn't work, you may want to speak with a nutritionist to figure out how you can get on the weight loss track. Your doctor could also probably point you in the right direction.
Good luck!

Dear Monica,

I can really relate to your situation. Believe me, I've been there. You sound a bit depressed to me. This may be why you're sleeping so much. You have so much stress on your plate, that it might be tempting to just go to bed to avoid thinking about of it all. I hope you can get some couselling, as well as help with your migraines.

I'm still trying to lose weight. It sounds like you're eating healthy food, but are you counting the number of calories you consumme? Maybe the bike isn't good for your knees right now. What about walking? You could start out slowly. Maybe something like 10 minutes 3 times a day.

Good luck. Change takes time, but it's worth it!

I was in the same situation a year ago...first I listed all the things I wanted to change in my life, then I stared working on them one thing at a time. Money is my hardest........for my weight loss I stop telling myself I want to be on a diet, I also stop telling people I want to loss weight. I stared by changing things I would eat started read the labels how much sugar, salt and calories I also started reading books on weight loss Library is a great place to begin... then I stared walking, start off slow.....say a pray and while you walking ask the universe to take away all your pains, and your problems and every once in a while eat what you like... that 's your way of rewarding yourself. Good Luck! Remember weight loss don't have to be about spending money you don't have... it's a slow process, my 10yrs daughter said to me a few days ago forget about the stomach and keep doing what you doing and you will see the changes.

It seems like there are a few things that might be contributing to you being stuck on the scale. The major thing seems like stress, and maybe some level of depression as well. It doesn't matter how well you're eating or exercising, if your body and mind feel under attack, your body's going to hang onto as much fuel as possible. If I were you, I would get some help for your mental and emotional well being first.

After that...it does seem like you're eating a lot of sugar -- in the form of fructose and lactose from the fruit and yogurt, and not very many vegetables. That would be something to look at as well.

Good luck!
