Implant Can Lower Blood Pressure

Implant Can Lower Blood Pressure

If you’re one of the nearly 20 million Americans that suffers from high blood pressure that can’t be controlled with medication, a new device may be just for you.

The CVRX Rheos is a surgically-implanted device that basically tells your brain to lower your blood pressure when it gets too high. Smaller than a pacemaker, the implant is placed under your collarbone and sends electric signals to the brain via two small wires attached to the implant. The device is already approved in Europe and is currently undergoing testing in the United States. Soon you could be part robot too!

How would you feel about having an electrical device in your body that “talked” with your brain? [The Boston Channel]
