New Treatment Option for High Blood Pressure
Good news for those who are working to lower their blood pressure: The FDA has just approved Cleviprex (clevidipine butyrate), an injectable drug used to treat high blood pressure.
When diet and medications aren't as effective as desired, Cleviprex provides another alternative. This injectable treatment doesn't accumulate in the kidneys or liver because it is metabolized in the tissues and blood, unlike other blood pressure medications. Some of the possible side effects include headaches, nausea and vomiting.
Are you on medication(s) for your high blood pressure? Which treatments do you find are most and least effective? Is this new drug something you will talk about with your doctor? [HealthDay]
