Do It for the Kids
Sometimes the biggest inspiration can come from the littlest of people. After smoking for nine years, Michele Elliott of Indiana quit smoking cold turkey when she discovered she was pregnant. By doing so, she has not only improved her health, but also her daughter’s. She’s been a non-smoker for two years now.
Elliott is the first to admit that quitting smoking, especially cold turkey, didn’t come easy. She suffered withdrawal symptoms and like many others, Elliott’s cigarette smoking came hand-in-hand with another habit or ritual: drinking coffee. So, if she wanted to quit smoking for good, coffee had to go as well. She also redirected her hand-to-mouth habit by replacing cigarettes with straws to chew on or veggies to nibble.
We know quitting is much more difficult than it sounds, even in an uplifting story like this. Take a minute and think about those in your life that would benefit from you quitting smoking. Talk to them today—we bet they will support you through the process.

My dad used to smoke when I was younger. It might have had to do with the fact that he worked for Marlboro, but I remember telling him if he didn't quit, I wouldn't love him anymore; hahaha. I was young and very very persuasive (I think), well with that said, he stopped smoking!
