Save Your Spouse - Quit Smoking!
Obviously you know that by smoking around your loved ones you put their health at risk. But did you know that you could possibly cause them to have a stroke?
A Harvard study found that a smoker's spouse had a 42% higher risk of having a stroke than other non-smokers. And if the smoker’s spouse had also smoked at some point in his or her life, but had quit smoking, the risk of a stroke rose to 72%.
However, the key is that if the smoker quits smoking, their spouse's risk of a stroke declines (duh!). We just want to emphasize that the health benefits from quitting smoking are almost instantaneous — not just for the smoker, but also for the smoker’s loved ones. What’s better than being instantly rewarded for your efforts?
Tell us where you are with quitting smoking. Is saving the health of your loved ones enough of a motivator to make you to stop?
