Once You quit then what?
I have quit cold turkey 4 times in the last 2 years for at least 2 months each time. Somehow I always find myself back to this old habit. I go through this agonizing first couple of days only to be back where I started at the drop of a hat after a month or two. Any suggestions?
Exercise, exercise, and more exercise. Not only is it another way to de-stress, but it also clears out your system, making smoking seem less appealing. (Well, at least to most people. I do have a friend who swears smoking tastes better after she runs three miles, but I swear she's on crack.)
My friend and I were just talking about this the other day...she's in a similar position to you. It always happens that a stressful event is the trigger, so she started doing something else to manage the stress. Do you find stress brings you back to smoking or is it really just the habit?
