Daiy Scale

Anonymous

One of my keys to maintaining weight loss has been to get on the scale every day.  Generally, people advise against this, but I believe that advice is for when you're trying to lose.  The .5 up and down daily could drive you crazy since our bodies are always going to fluctuate.

For me, getting on the scale first thing in the morning (sans pajamas) is a somewhat consistent barometer.  I give myself a 3 lb. range where I don't stress.  When I'm a little over, that's a day to focus on eating healthier or make the gym a priority.  This way, I don't gain 5 lb. without noticing over a few weeks or months and then feel overwhelmed at having to "diet" again.

After yo-yo-ing with 10-15 extra pounds for years, I've had a consistent weight since getting my scale a year and a half ago.  The effect that has had on my happiness and sanity has been so wonderful!
