Looks vs. Life

jeanfroner

Sometimes focusing on our looks to stay motivated in the weight loss journey can be detrimental.  Often it makes us feel bad or inferior to think that we have to look better, or even perfect. This decreases our energy and stamina.  We should try instead to focus on how much we love our bodies, because they make it possible for us to live the lives we want to live.  We love our bodies so much that we want to do everything we can to care for them properly for a long, long, long time.

Good point.

I sometimes experience that decrease in energy when I focus on all the things I don't like about how I look. It can be overwhelming.

At the same time, if you start to focus on the things you really like about your look you can see reasons to pick your head up, stand up straight, smile and start to feel better. Maybe you have nice eyes, good hair, a great smile. These are all things unique to you and worth being happy about.

All is takes is a few seconds to change your energy and how you're feeling about yourself.

Breathe. Smile. See, you're feeling better already.
