Get to Know Your Mac

“Don't anthropomorphize computers—they hate it.” —Author Unknown

Find ways to bond with your computer. Being a Mac user means entering into the culture that comes along with it—a culture that appreciates a machine as being something you live with, not something you are a slave to. If you have a MacBook, take it out to a café and listen to iTunes while you sip on some tea and finish up that presentation for work. You can also go to a park and link up to the wireless network and surf the net while you watch people playing with their dogs. Odds are you’ll see others doing the same.

Don’t forget to check in with your online friends on Mac message boards. There are many web sites, like macworld.com, where you can meet other people who love their computer and pick up some advice for switching. You can also get even more tips and insights as to why so many people embrace the Mac culture.

Fun Fact: If you’re left handed, a Mac may be easier for you to use. Design details—like the one-button mouse and having a Command key on both sides of the space bar—make it equally applicable to left- or right-handed people. And rumor has it that four out of five of the original Mac designers were left handed—but that hasn’t been 100% verified.
